Battle for Hue City: Tet Offensive 1968 Vietnam War Epic

    On February 6, 1968, Hotel Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Division, faced fierce enemy fire while storming the Hue Provisional Headquarters during the Tet Offensive. Led by Captain Christmas, the 1st Platoon charged into the building, crossing an open courtyard amid mortar blasts, using grenades and M-16s to suppress the enemy.

    Following them, the 2nd and 3rd Platoons, under Sergeant John Miller and Lieutenant Mike Lambert, swiftly aided their comrades, tending to the wounded amid the chaos. Finally, Gunnery Sergeant Frank Thomas, with Privates Walter Kaczmarek and Alan McDonald, lowered the Viet Cong flag and raised the U.S. flag, marking a historic moment.
